Mississippi Blues

Pathfinders is dedicated to highlighting Black history 365 days of the year.  During Black History Month, we willB.B. King-MSNBC showcase some of the people, destinations, museums and historical sites we especially love and believe should be added to your list of places to visit.

The B. B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center

400 Second Street

Indianola, MS 38751

The B. B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center is located in the heart of the Mississippi Delta on US Highway 82 between Greenwood and Greenville, not far from the famous Crossroads at Clarksdale. The Mississippi Delta and the Blues go together like pork chops and gravy. Discover the life of one of the greatest blues artists of our time and the culture of the State of Mississippi and the City of Indianola.

Blues is considered an original music genre and people travel from all over the world to experience this African American expression.  Unfortunately, today’s blues musicians don’t get the credit and appreciation they deserve.  Popular artists such as Buddy Guy still reign, but for others they play the music simply for the love of it even when they seldom reap lucrative financial rewards.
